GUIDE: What is Official Trump (TRUMP)?
Official Trump (TRUMP) is the meme token linked to Donald Trump that launched on Solana on January 17, 2025. It is not a stock, a state currency, nor a promise of profits. This guide explains how to identify it, what its distribution means, and which risks should be understood, without recommending its purchase or supporting any political position.

1. What is TRUMP and What Does "Official" Mean?
A meme token is a digital asset whose notoriety depends specifically on an image, a community, and public attention. Official Trump uses the identity of Donald Trump and is presented on gettrumpmemes.com. We are referring to that specific project here, not any coin that carries "Trump" in its name or uses the same ticker symbol.
"Official" describes its link to the project, not a guarantee of security or profitability. It also does not mean it is money issued by the US Government. Its price can vary due to buy and sell orders, available liquidity, and shifts in attention; a well-known brand does not prevent losing the entire amount allocated to the token.
2. Not Shares or a Political Donation
The official website describes TRUMP as an expression of support and participation in the ideals associated with its symbol. It also states that it is not intended to be an investment opportunity, an investment contract, or a financial security. This is the promoter's description, not a universal legal conclusion on how each country should treat it.
Buying TRUMP does not make you a shareholder in The Trump Organization nor does it grant you rights to its profits. The site states that it is not related to campaigns, political offices, or government agencies: the purchase should not be confused with a campaign donation. There is no guaranteed profitability, promised dividends, or automatic right to recover what was paid.
3. Initial Supply, Concentration, and Unlocks
According to the schedule published on the official website, the maximum supply is 1 billion TRUMP and 200 million were available at launch. The initial distribution reserved 10% for public distribution and another 10% for liquidity. These are figures from the initial design, not a measurement of the supply circulating today.
The remaining 80% was jointly assigned to CIC Digital LLC, linked to The Trump Organization, and Fight Fight Fight LLC, subject to a three-year unlock schedule. Vesting means that the coins are released in stages according to the conditions of each group; it does not imply that this entire block could be sold from day one.
This concentration creates dependency on a few holders. When tokens are unlocked, the amount available for trading may increase and selling pressure may appear, although an unlock is not automatically equivalent to a sale nor does it allow for price prediction. Before assessing risk, review the current official schedule and distinguish between maximum supply, unlocked coins, and effective circulation.
4. Solana: Correct Address, Network, and Fees
TRUMP was launched as a Solana token; it is not SOL, the native asset of that network. To identify its Solana version, cross-reference the token address with the one published on the official website. The name, symbol, and logo can be copied: on their own, they do not prove authenticity.
Before transferring, check that the withdrawal and deposit networks match and that the destination supports that token. The official website also shows a version on TRON: this does not allow for sending interchangeably between networks. A wrong address or network can cause losses that are difficult or impossible to recover.
In a self-custody wallet, Solana operations require fees paid in SOL, not in TRUMP. Keep a sufficient balance to move your tokens and review the cost before signing. There may be a priority fee; additionally, an exchange may charge its own withdrawal fee, distinct from the network cost.
5. Volatility, Rug Pulls, and Phishing
Liquidity matters as much as the displayed price: selling a large amount in a shallow market can result in a price much worse than expected. Concentration and unlocks add risk. Do not assume that popularity ensures future buyers or that a drop will necessarily have a recovery.
A rug pull is a maneuver in which those responsible for a project withdraw liquidity or abandon buyers. It is a risk worth knowing, especially in imitations; it is not an accusation that Official Trump has committed one. Being authentic also does not eliminate economic or technical risks.
Phishing attempts to steal your keys or obtain dangerous signatures through fake pages, advertisements, or private messages. Do not share your recovery phrase or enter it to claim supposed gifts. Type and verify the official domain, review what you authorize, and distrust urgency and "guaranteed" benefits.
6. What to Check Before Using a Platform
If you decide to consult exchanges, first check the availability of TRUMP in your country and the supported deposit and withdrawal networks. Compare total costs, custody conditions, and regulatory status. The fact that a platform is authorized does not make every token it offers a safe product nor does it guarantee its value.
Review platforms and conditions without assuming all offer TRUMP. Confirm availability in your country, fees, and supported networks directly with each provider.
